Why doesn't Leigh's bio include the fact that his club was named Best Club in the nation by the CRNC?
  • Stanley Kant · 7 months ago
I didn't know about the flag stomping case in San Francisco. Good job!

    May the best win!

Jessica Bender is not deserving of the award for being a CR of the Year. Do not vote for her!!! She separated the CR's this year when she should be a leader and uniting us.
  • Seething · 7 months ago
I would just like to take a moment and thank you -

Thank You for continuing the unfounded, idiotic, senseless spreading of prejudiced fallacies that is the root of the seperation of our party. How dare you?

This is a time to stand together and get the job done, but all you morons are stuck on internet DRAMA! Get over yourselves and do something productive for the party, this is of course, unless you want Obama in the White House for another term?!

"AZ" - from what you've said I can come to one of two conclusions. 1) That you don't know Jessica Bender personally and you're concentrating on the previous Federation Board as a whole, or
    2) That you are well aware of what Jessica Bender is all about and you feel slighted that YOU weren't nominated.

Now. Jessica Bender is a wonderful person whom I have the priviledge and honor of knowing. She is one of the most genuine, caring people I have ever met and I am completely affronted that you dare say anything negative against her. She is a true Patriot, one that has spent COUNTLESS hours working for the betterment of our party. What, I ask, have you done? As far as I can see you're merely content to sit on your computer and spread slanderous lies about good people. How dare you?
  • Steve Irwin · 7 months ago
Want to get into her pants huh?
  • Benjamin Stewart · 7 months ago
Grow Up! This is politics. Jessica did an awesome job this year. She was more involved than anyone in the CRs. It's fine if you personally don't like her but that doesn't mean you have to comment on a CR of the year article and bash her, you are a sad person. Please get a life!!!
  • Benjamin Stewart · 7 months ago
Raise your hand if you traveled across the country to campaign in a state that you have never been to before... hmm I only see Jessica raising her hand.. maybe it's because she flew to Georgia with me and Mike a day after Thanksgiving to campaign for Senator Chambliss! Jessica is driven and truly believes in the Conservative cause, the person on here bashing her is obviously jealous that he/she does not have the courage and strength that Jessica posses. Oh and she is taking over as President of the CRs at the largest University in the nation!! She deserves your respect "AZ."

Why are none of you addressing the actual issue the person brought up?

Did she bring disunity or not?
  • Jack - CA CR · 7 months ago
This little paragraph does not do Leigh Wolf justice. He's been on Fox News 3 times, not because he knew somebody, but because he did something worthy of national coverage. Fox uses his video all the time when covering SF politics. If you haven't seen his clubs youtube channel, you need visit it NOW.

To be a conservative at ASU takes real courage as the professors are active liberals.
  • Jack - CA CR · 7 months ago
Yes because being a conservative in San Francisco is a cake walk.....tell me you're joking.
  • Bush_saves · 7 months ago
you realize Leigh Wolf is from the most actively liberal city in the nation. It is liberal even for California's standards. A significant number of residents there believe Nancy Pelosi is too moderate!
  • Alan Perez · 7 months ago
Leigh Wolf has shown true dedication to the advancement of the conservative cause not just in his own efforts but in inspiring others to stand up for their principles, even in the face of the brutal offensive staged by the radical liberal left in San Francisco he stands up to voice himself, often going solo. He has led the California College Republicans through campaigns, debates, activism and of course always makes sure his fellow CRs have the best time in their experience with all the successful socials. Not only staging events, "The Leigh Wolf" also works hard promoting the things he does along side other college republicans with impressive videography, blogging and even appearing in the media spotlight on countless occassions to ensure the story gets told accurately and the CRs responsible get the thanks and respect they deserve. If you need any convincing of why Leigh Wolf is deserving of the award of Activist of the Year you can find much of his work at gatorgop.org. patriotaxiom.blogspot.com or at youtube.com/SFCollegeRepublicans.

It's good to see Ms. Bender preserving the long Arizona tradition of sending strict constitutional constructionist to the forefront of the country. First it was AuH2O in '64, now it's Bender in '09!!!!

Knowing how nutty a state Vermont (and New York) are, it's got to be hard to be a YR or any kind of R in Vermont!
  • Tim Sullivan · 7 months ago
Vermont is a great state, and me knowing John Kleinhans' past personally I would like to defend him by mentioning that he himself is from Connecticut and has done many great things for both Vermont while he's been at school and in his home of Connecticut. Please do not take shots at any of these kids because of what university they represent or where it may be located, especially if you are unaware of their past. Have you even read his credentials?
  • ljh · 7 months ago
When you read some of the petty sniping comments here, there is little wonder we republicans are in trouble. As an adult in the room, I am suggesting that you children grow up, vote on the merits, and stop eating the young. Sad really and embarrassing.

I have watched Matt Rubin take the CR chapter of the University of Toledo to another level. His community plan to invest in local businesses was a great idea, and earned him many spots on local news broadcasts. Please vote for him for this award; he deserves it!
  • chilco · 7 months ago
Matt Rubin looks to be the logical choice here. Clearly he hails from a democratic stronghold which given some grass roots work can be molded into a republican state. After Obama decimates the auto industry those out of work former Union members living in the Rust Belt will be ready for a message of entreprenuership and less government intervention. It's easy being a republican in Arizona. Fighting flag burners is noble but the party needs to be focused on broader issues and Vermont has some great maple syrup but no star power.
Matt Rubin is your every day John Q. Public. He's your man!
  • rtwingcommando · 7 months ago
You are all winners in my book!
  • TruthForThought · 7 months ago
It is very important that the Republican representative chosen supports moral issues, like traditional marriage, freedom of religion, 1st and 2nd amendment rights, worker rights to secret ballots, and pro-life issues. While it is important to be fiscally conservative, that alone is not enough. The moral issues are the "life and soul" of the Republican party. When these issues are downplayed, as they have been the past 2 elections, the Republican party loses the heart of the American people and loses...This is why Huckabee did so well despite virtually no party or media support.
  • Harry D. Thomas · 7 months ago
Whilst recognising the profundity of the so-called blue populus in our New England, I am proud to know a young man who has sufficient moral fortitude to cognicise the privilege of the public's rights to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."as opposed to dictatoria credo of "government knows what's best for you." Therefor I endorse Mr. Kleinhans with great fervour!!
  • Phil Iliff · 7 months ago
Military service is the most admirable form of activism. Literally fighting for what you believe in. Leigh Wolf hands down.
  • Peggy Lancaster · 7 months ago
All of these nominees are outstanding and would do a great job.
  • Firm in my beliefs · 7 months ago
I'm sorry, while it's cool Leigh Wolf has done some stuff in Cali, the fact that he's disenfranchised several clubs/members of CCR and threatens CRs quite frequently on blogs does not make him a great CR in my book. While he has had many events to boast of, he's helped ruin CCR. Their numbers are way down. Name calling, threats, and disenfranchising members for any reason does not make one a good leader or someone honorable. Most of the southern region has dropped from CCR and he definitely had a part in it.
  • Phil Iliff · 7 months ago
I'm sorry I don't listen to criticism from anonymous sources. Especially when the criticism comes in the form of hyperbole and generalities.
  • Firm in my beliefs · 7 months ago
That's fine, no one said you have to listen. This is my belief and I'm simply stating it. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
  • You are mistaken · 7 months ago
CCR's numbers are way up! This is one of the biggest years California has had in a decade! Most of the Southern Region? You mean SDSU (650), San Marcos (550), Riverside (150), UCSD (350), and USD (350) all left? Oh, no, Irvine (150) and Saddleback (150) left because they saw they were going to lose, not like they ever were useful to begin with. If you call "disenfranchising" not allowing two clubs to vote, UCLA and Berkeley (one that supporter one group and one that supported the other group, because they didn't submit their lists properly or on time, then yes, Leigh is responsible for that along with the other 94% of the entire state organization from each school that turned down their late chartering request. I'm proud Leigh stood up for the rules, for people who do the right thing, and for people who actually act instead of just whining. Not only is he a leader when it comes to activism and elections, but strengthening our party but trimming the scum from our ranks
  • Alvaro · 7 months ago
All I know is that the lists were turned in on time (Sunday at 10:20AM). Chartering was due on Sunday at 10:30AM according to the Call to Convention as outlined in the constitution.

Fun fact, the club member numbers you have written down according to CCR constitution could include anyone.

I just wanted to clear that up for you all that the CCR constitution was not followed.

At any rate, I wish you all the best in promoting conservative values remembering that those values start within your own lives. Also, I thank Mr. Wolf for his courage to enlist in the marines.
  • You are mistaken · 7 months ago
Hey Alvaro, in the Call to Convention I got it said explicitly all Chartering was due 30 days before Convention and that voting would take place at 10:30AM. If there were some questions or misunderstandings I am sure you would have contacted the Chair or Vice-Chair to clear things up, right? I'm sure a simple phone call or email anytime in the 30 days before Convention. Oh, nope, you waited until 10 minutes before voting took place to even bring the issues up because you thought your interpretation of executive board, over board of directors, over general board, over general session was right. Don't be angry you tried to fit through a possible loophole and were rejected. Any know who else told you that you were wrong, the 90something% of all the schools there who told you to follow the rules and ask questions instead of trying to cheat on a technicality.
  • WWLD · 7 months ago
um first off Leigh was not the only member of last years ex-com, and he did not "help ruin ccr" Leigh is an inspiration and while he may be rough around the edges sometimes he is a great guy and completely supportive CCR members, numbers are far from down and those who actually know Leigh respect him and know how awesome he is, and how great he is for CCR in general. You just sound bitter, perhaps jealous

Leigh Wolf is a disgrace to republicns! He is nothing but an embaressment and the fact he was even nominated makes me want to leave this party. As an SFSU student who has known Leigh for 5 years I can safely say that if you care about our partys future please stay away from him.
  • SFSU CR · 7 months ago
Sounds like the leftists just won't leave Leigh ALONE!!
  • Kevin McCullough · 7 months ago
    Proudly voted Jessica!!!!
  • Pitch Fork · 7 months ago
The petty personal attacks must stop! You all claim that those nominated are divisive and here you are dividing the party even more. Clearly you are jealous of our nominees. All four of these leaders have done tremendous work to strengthen the College Republicans and the Conservative movement as a whole. They have given COUNTLESS hours and asked nothing in return. They are true conservatives that do not care who gets the credit for success.

This vote comes down to Bender and Wolf. Both come from extremely liberal campuses. San Francisco is self explanatory and ASU was named as one of the top ten most liberal campuses in "One Party Classroom" by David Horowitz. I have seen videos of Wolf battling with extreme liberals and I have personally witnessed Bender do the same. Personally I voted for Bender because she has given so much of her time and effort not to mention spending her own money on all kinds of supplies for the club. Something else that wasn't mentioned in the blurb was that she went to Georgia to campaign for Saxby Chambliss in December.
  • Bush_saves · 7 months ago
I was a closet Republican most of my life, but after hearing of "The Leigh Wolf" I was inspired to actively support the Republican party. I am the current chair of CR at my school, and I have quadrupled our membership. All thanks to the courage of Leigh Wolf. He has done so much for the party, with all his big events. He is true patriot for everything he campaigns for and deserves College Republican of the year. I have never seen a person confront a liberal so perfectly, a trait that I am extremely jealous of.

I was honored to meet "The Leigh Wolf" at the CR convention a few weeks back. All these personal attacks are ludacris. He was a very nice person. The fact that he is in our military is not only admirable, its badass. I see him as the future of our party. A person who stands firmly for American values and is not afraid to fight for it.
  • JABLOME · 7 months ago
We should just introduce Jessica to Leigh.

Once she 'meets' him, she will then understand the raw, elemental force that is Leigh Wolf.

She will have no choice but to withdraw.
  • NvrFrgt · 7 months ago
You seem to forget that we are all on the same team, fighting for the same cause.

No matter who wins, it will be well deserved and all the candidates should be proud.

Such a shame that trolls have invaded the comments area.
    ::sigh::
I read each candidates qualifications carefully, as I do not know any of them. I believe I have voted for the best person. One who appears to have taken the most active role in the cause.
If the administrators cannot moderate the comments, and keep the trolls out, I may not participate in the rest of the voting.

Jessie is the heart and soul of what a Republican should be, Honest, stright forward, and hardworking. She carrys a deep love of freedom, devotion and a desire to reach out to help others. As a past Legislative candidate and President of the Superstition Mountain Republican Club I know what she has done for all republican candidtaes in the state of Arizona. Jessie is a bright sunshine in a state where the sun never settles.

As a Reagan Republican who worked tirelessly in the 50's,60's,70's,80's,90,and up to the present, I commend all of the candidates who have been put forth for this top recognition. I am so proud to see these young people coming forth and standing up for what they believe and expounding as well as doing something about it . They are the future of the New Republican Party and it looks like it is going to be in good hands. Remember anytime you are in the limelight you will get both negative and positive responses but stick to your guns and let people know where you stand. I am proud to vote and wish all of you continued success in your ventures

Leigh Wolf is located in an interesting geographic area that is people typically associate with extreme liberalism. Its good to know that there are individuals such as Leigh who are not afraid to champion the beliefs of the Republican party in such a liberal dominated environment. I wish him well.
